Offaly are racing at the St. Michael’s Head on the River Shannon at O’Briensbridge, Co. Clare. Crews entered include mens novice and intermediate sculls, mens junior single and double sculls and womens junior quad.
Where to go:
Start near the the rowers left bank. Follow the line of buoys. Watch for turn to rowers right after about 300m, follow buoys. Next turn is a sharp one to rowers left at top of straight. Stay just left of centre on the straight. The wires are around half way. Don’t go into big bays on left side. At end of straight near launch area, start long gradual bend, following left bank but not too near. Make sure to follow bank, it’s easy to cross over to the wrong side; this adds a long distance and puts you in the way of boats returning from the finish.
